please tell me if the iPod 2 has texting

Well can you please tell me if the ipod 2 has texting on it because if it dose i am not allowed to get it because of my age because i am 10 and my perents believe that at my age i should not be texting so i have to find out if it has texting on it so if you help me out it will be very very very helpful so ya thanks chat to you soon and have a wonderful day and if you cant get infomation that is fine but please please i have searched the enternet for days and now i have gave up so please help me because i really wanted it and if i dont get it because of texting i am not going to be cool with my friends that have one so please help i will do anything just i want is so so badly and ya so if you help me it will be much appreseated thankyou so so so so and like i said have a very very very good day and if you need advice i will try and help you if you help me thankyou so so so much. To text you need a sim card. So no you can't text from an iPod. You can use skype messenger/msn messenger etc if you have wifi. Thing is your parents have a reason they don't want you texting.. Parents can seem uncool but they just want you to be safe. There are plenty of people out there who aren't nice and who bully or harrass kids via text or facebook. Ask your parents why they don't want texting and see if you can meet a compromise on Skype if they have parental control to make sure you're fine. Your friends have to be online at the same time and obviously you'd need wifi.

Lola, I do agree with your parents. Just to give you a bit of an answer, no you can not text like you would text from your iPhone or any other phone. This said, there are other ways to IM your friends with the iPod Touch. Hope this helps.
