LCD Monitor Malfunction. Goes off when I bend the bezel.

Hello,

My MacBook has a malfunction and i wanna know if this is a cable problem or i need to replace the LCD.

This started months ago when the LCD started to change it brightness. Its like blinking but not with backlights going off and on, only changing the brightness quickly.

After the lights started to go off when i bend the lid to close it. When the screen is at an angle lower than 90 degrees, the backlight goes off.

The more recent problem is that a blue stripe with 1 pixel thick appeared from the top to the botton, on the right side of the screen. Is this all and cable malfunction? I am supposing that the first two problems are LCD cable related and the stripe is the LCD...

Any help?

Regards,

Eloy

This guide should be of help:

MacBook Core 2 Duo Display Replacement

This repair is very doable, but you must exercise patience and organization for there are many screws of different sizes. Good luck.

The Backlight going out when you you have the Display clamshell <90° would most likely be a problem with the inverter cable

1 Pixel line is almost always the display panel itself.

Thank you Matthew for the info. I'll try to replace the LCD and inverter cable. If this pixel line persists i'll then replace the whole LCD.

Any document teaching how to open the MacBook LCD bezel?
