How do I do a full software update for this device
The apps on Google Play Store, like YouTube, say "app not compatible with device ".
Will doing a software update fix that issue?

App Not Compatible with this device cannot be solved unless you get a newer device or update the firmware. This device was released in 2013, I doubt there is a new version, so it seems like you're out of luck. If you want to watch youtube you can try to do so in the built in web-browser.
