Screen Replacement Compatibility Concerns

The replacement screen on ifixit is a LG screen (c3f serial, look on picture). My screen that I need to replace was made by sharp (DKH serial). I heard I need one made by sharp or toshiba and that an LG screen might not be compatible. Could I buy one of those from ifixit? If so how would I request it, there are no options on the product page. If I can't buy it from ifixit where could I go?

Hi

As far as I know it should work as ifixit hasn’t said in the description that it won’t work and they are usually very good at these sorts of things

I also haven’t heard of apple using 2 different connector types (as in different connectors for LG,Toshiba or sharp)for the screen if the XR so I wouldn’t worry about it too much

I’m sure if you have any issues iFixits customer support will help you get it sorted but you will most likely be fine

Hopefully this helps

Any questions please ask

Thanks:-)

Hi,

The connectors are the same on the 3 versions but the touch calibration is different. If you use a toshiba screen on an iPhone XR or 11 that was produced with an LG screen, you will most likely have touch issues. (ghost touch or no touch at all). It's less likely to happen if it's an LG screen on a "toshiba" iPhone, but still, it can happen
