FURL battery that has to be plugged in to run
My battery says it's full but will not run without being plugged in

Your laptop battery is dead now. It is only working on charger. After removing the charger power won't reach to laptop and it shut down. Your laptop battery is no longer able to handle the load of laptop. You can repair it by replacing the damage cell but it tough and never gives successful battery. After few times another will fail and you will face the same issue. The best solution is replace your battery.
