Yes, it should work fine because TP300L Core i7-4770S supported both types of RAM memory like DDR3-1333/1600, and DDR3L-1333/1600. So, the old motherboard RAM should be supported by this motherboard. Finally, you have to check by replacing.

Usually, version like DDR3 or DDR4 and FSB causes the issue. The old motherboard and new both use DDR3. so there is no issue with RAM type. The new motherboard supports both types of FSB. So, there should also not be any issue with FSB.

If you are talking about RAM capacity it could create an issue. The upper version of windows 7 like 8, 10, or 11 needed at least 8 GB of RAM to work well. Below that it will starts freezing while using two or three software at a time. It will work with 4 Gb Ram but you will not get good performance mostly using the browser or internet.

can I just take out and put 8 GB ram?

can i do that?

You can do that but my opinion is that uses multiple RAM in place of a single big Ram. The reason is that a single 8 Gb Ram only gives you a specific clock speed as well as cache memory. While using 2*4 or 4*2 Ram gives you extra clock speed with a cache memory of each Ram.
