battery disappeared after replacement
I recently replaced the battery in my macbook pro and it worked for a month or so, but suddenly the laptop doesn't see the battery at all. When I unplug the cord, the laptop dies, and there's no battery status showing up in the toolbar any more. The battery indicator on the side quit lighting up when I pushed the little button a couple of weeks ago.
I tried taking off the back and checking the connection. it seems just fine.
Another post here suggested the logic board could be faulty. I had replaced that as my most recent repair, though the battery did work fine for a week or two after that was done
Is this a good question?

Let’s get a better view of things, install this gem of an app! CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window and post it here for us to see Adding images to an existing question
You likely need a replacement battery but let's make sure!

@danj
I'm not sure how this app of yours is supposed to help. the computer isn't recognizing the battery at all. I'm reluctant to download an app on the recommendation of someone I don't know

sorry to be suspicious of the coconut app, I should have looked it up.
Still, I don't see how it can detect a battery the computer can't. Might as well try

@bobgent - First it's not 'My App' But I do know the developer! And I can say it's quite safe!
I've used it for years and you'll find many people here have used it as its a great tool!
I can understand the world is becoming a nasty place in your eye's.
Some people still have honor and scruples! This site is of high standing and if you look through the questions answered by me you'll see I have helped quite a few saving them money and/or time and it comes with no strings!
And BTW - I'm a volunteer, I gain no monetary benefit in any way, just someone who thinks people should keep their gear working for as long as possible!
Otherwise you'll need to find someone local who can help you. Apple no longer offers service on this series Vintage and obsolete products So you'll need to trust someone and I'm sure they will likely install this or some other app to check the battery and you'll need to pay a fee for their time if they run a business.

Thanks @danj I did install the app, and while it should be useful at some point, there's still the matter of the battery being MIA. the app doesn't see it either
