Hi,

Check if there is 19.5V DC at the plug at the end of the charger cable to make sure that the charger is OK.

If the charger is OK you need to check if the DC-In jack (supplier example only) on the motherboard is OK. Sometimes the centre pin of the jack breaks internally and this opens the +ve wire of the power supply and the battery can't charge or the laptop can't turn on.

Here's the service manual for the laptop that may help. Click on Systemboard to get to the relevant section in the manual that shows the necessary steps and the procedure to remove the board. This will give access to the DC-In jack so that it can be tested.

If the DC-In jack is faulty it can't be repaired, it has to be replaced.

If the DC-In jack is OK then there's a problem with the motherboard.

If doing this yourself is too daunting, contact a reputable, professional laptop repair service and ask for a quote to fix the laptop.
