Connect your nook to your computer and transfer the .wav files to the My Files\Music Folder in the nook. (There have been some problems seeing files if transferring more than 100 files at a time) Disconnect the nook and open your Music Player app and you should see and be able to play the .wav files. As a recommendation, try going with a traditional music file format like .mp3 or .wma, as the .wav format is an uncompressed audio format resulting in very large music files. If you tried these steps and still cannot successfully play any .wav files then i would recommend getting a few samples from: WAV Wikipedia
Try them out and see if your bit-rate or format affects your ability to play the files.

I need to be able to play wav files that are sent in a email. These wav files are generated by my phone voice mail.
So can you not save the files directly from your email to the folder listed by joel? Once you have them in that folder, proceed as directed...:-)
When saving email attachments, the files would go to the myfiles/downloads folder in your nook. There should be an option called My Files in the music player to select the folder you are playing files from. Simply Navigate to the downloads folder after you downloaded the .wav file from your email and play the song.
