How do you download video from a Flip after power loss?

I have a Flip camera with the files "locked" in the camera after it was (rather brutally) powered off by accident. The camera still comes on and indicates the files are there, but will not download them. The last few seconds of video should be awesome as the camera 'Flipped' out of a race car at about 90 MPH!

When you plug your Flip into the USB, does your computer still recognize the camera?

When this happens, it's usually a filesystem corruption issue or a failsafe done by the Flip camcorder to protect the camera. More then likely the corrupted file causing the problem is a lost cause and won't ever be readable, but it may be possible to repair it if you really need it back.

Plug the camera into your computer and download the video as a precaution. Once that's done, scan the filesystem and see if there's a problem. If there is, it will be corrected if there isn't a problem with the flash memory.
