Why isn't my Switch reading SD cards after replacing the port?

I'm trying to repair a Switch that isn't reading micro SD cards. At first I thought it was just the port that was the problem, but after replacing it, the console still won't register that it has a card plugged in. I've tried reseating the new port a few times and it hasn't helped. I also tried reinitializing the console, but that hasn't made a difference either.

Options

could be that the fpc connector on the motherboard is damaged or has a pin disconnected
