Crackling noise on JBL Flip 6

New JBL Flip 6 works perfectly with my MacBook Pro and Google TV device…HOWEVER it doesn’t work with iPhone 12. I’m getting a crackling sound coming from speaker. Ps: first time playing speaker was after JBL app update (so not sure if that’s what screwed up Bluetooth?) subsequently updated iOS to latest update, problem still persists. Ps: issue does not exist with my Flip 4

Answer this question I have this problem too

Try these steps, hope this will solve the issue.

  1. Switch off other devices using the same frequency
  2. Ensure your JBL speaker is near your Bluetooth device
  3. Ensure your speakers are not damaged
  4. Keep your speaker in the preset mode for normal listening
  5. Ensure your battery is not damaged and is fully charged
  6. Keep your JBL Bluetooth speaker software updated

I have the same problem. The speakers sounds horrible. Any ideas on how to fix this design flaw? I’m an engineer by training, so I completely understand that this low-frequency noise is not normal and is probably a problem afflicting many, if not all, Flip 6 speakers out there.

I found that the problem persists only when the Bluetooth of my TAG Connected Smart Watch is on and in close proximity. As soon as I turn Bluetooth off it works. However, I don’t have this problem when using my Flip4 nor do I have this problem when Bluetooth is turned on for any of my other nearby devices ie MacBook, iPhone or SmartTV. I do believe there is a flaw and possibly a firmware update could fix the issue?

It's from other bluetooth devices. I noticed that it happened only with my flip 6 (with or without party boost) and only in one specific room yet none of my other JBL speakers did this, ever. So my buddy (who's a tech genius) told me to try deactivating the Bluetooth devices and then see what happens, voila!! I was hoping it wasn't fkd up as I onky had it maybe a month, ive have it about 6-7 months now and haven't heard it unless I forget to turn off the other devices.

Hope this helps

I want to be clear about this for my own benefit. Are you saying you disabled all bluetooth app connections except the one you wanted to use the speaker with?

Was it interfering signals from the other bluetooth devices that were making the unpleasant noises?
