I’m looking to buy this laptop used and it seams to check all my boxes despite it being eight years old but the only down side is the TN panel that’s on it. So I’m curious if you can put something more modern like a IPS panel possibly with 120hz so it can be a casual gaming laptop on the go.

So the issue with upgrading a laptop is that you are limited by the laptop's firmware and the physical dimensions of the laptop. In some cases, manufacturers create a safe list of LCD models and insert it into the laptop’s firmware. This means that it is impossible to upgrade to a screen whose model number isn’t listed. If you want my advice, try looking for an external portable monitor.
