Optical Drive substitution for Solid State Drive.

I'm wanting to remove my Optical drive in my A1342 Macbook, 2.4GHz however I have Apple Care which extends my warranty for another 3 years, will doing so void it?

In theory yes it would void the Apple Care but if the unit needs to be serviced during the Apple Care warranty period just reinstall the optical drive inside the machine before bringing it to the service center. Use the good tools (screwdrivers) to do the job and be careful not to strip any screws.
