upper Volume Button Stuck

In the process of replacing a screen and testing it the volume up button is now stuck. i have removed 2 screws which held a cover in place. Is the pcb that the buttons are attached to glued to the chassis? Anyone know?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

From looking at this

https://www.etechparts.com/power-and-vol...

it looks like they have some kind of adhesive on the ribbons

There were three screws which i have reoved but if they are glued in place thats just overkill. Problem is i cant get the ipad to power off because of the stuck volume button. I dont know if using a heat gun to loosen the cable will damage the power flex cable.

Thanks for your replay.

as long as you dont bake the ribbon id think youd be ok. just do quick passes on it while gently tugging on it.

@Ask ArgyllTechfix alcohol is almosst always a cure all lol. try taking some and soaking hte button in it while its disconnected and just cylcing the !&&* out of the button and rinse it out with more alcohol. if that doesnt make it click again then the little membrane in the switch might actually be done for and need to be replaced
