Hi

Im more of a Mac person but I do know that usually the manufacture of your device will include a disk with the drivers or they will provide them on the websites my recommendation here would be to try reinstalling them from the manufactures website:-)

hopefully this helps

thanks:-)

Do you suspect it’s driver related?

by

iyts really weird because i bought a j5create usb to hdmi adapter and it STILL doesnt work! my buddy initially said it might be a burnt out pin but then that would mean the adapter should still work instead of the hdmi port.

Hmm if it’s not outputing even through a adapter it was be a main board issue, probably something todo with the gpu

Not sure re the correct model number but have you checked that the BIOS (select model number) is the latest version, as you never mentioned this?

Before reading this backup your Registry or better still your whole system! Then download the latest drivers from ACER, to start with.

When I have had problems with video drivers, which has happened many times over the years, I have used the freeware "Display Driver Uninstaller", or "DDU" as it is often called, from Wagnardsoft. There may be others but I don't know of them:

https://www.wagnardsoft.com/

It totally removes any trace of the current drivers you have installed on your system. This includes settings, registry stuff, etc., etc.

This includes Nvidia, AMD and Intel drivers and settings that may be lurking about causing your problems.

If your problem is not a hardware fault this will remove it. Windows will then reboot into the "vanilla" Windows video driver.

Read Wagnardsoft's Tutorial. Here are some of them as an example:

-You MUST disconnect your internet or completely block Windows Update when running DDU until you have re-installed your new drivers.
-DDU should be used when having a problem uninstalling / installing a driver or when switching GPU brand.
-DDU should not be used every time you install a new driver unless you know what you are doing.
-DDU will not work on network drive. Please install in a local drive (C:, D: or else).
-The tool can be used in Normal mode but for absolute stability when using DDU, Safemode is always the best.
-If you are using DDU in normal mode, Clean, reboot, clean again, reboot.
-Make a backup or a system restore (but it should normally be pretty safe).
-It is best to exclude the DDU folder completely from any security software to avoid issues.

Uninstall any other Nvidia software using a third party Windows uninstaller. I have used freeware IObits Uninstaller but use your favourite one. I think DDU will do this. Read the tutorial.

Some obscure settings can get corrupted and are not removed by the normal uninstallers as they don't scub the Registry, etc. as thoroughly.

The above has so far not failed me.
