Why won't my iPod charge after replacing the battery?

I replaced my battery following the guide and everything seemed to go perfect. When I tried to turn the device on there was no response. I plugged it into my computer but it was not recognized at all. I then plugged it into a wall outlet to charge, but again nothing happened. I left it to charge all day and still it doesn't respond. Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be great.

Update

I am in the same boat. New battery, white red back wiring order. No responce when plugging into computer (does not see device) and not outlet response either. I sometimes get battery picture with plug and lightening bolt icons. Left pluggen in all night and no response.

I have the same problem... Exactly the same.. Even check it twice.. Still no idea.. And still no one answer

Options

Sounds like you put the battery in wrong, follow the guide carefully, and go through the replacement again. If you got the battery from a not reputable source, that could be it too, but I'm inclined to think the former.
