How do I fix a stripped screw mount/thread?

I'm re-shelling an old DS and I took it apart, but now I'm trying to install it in the new shell. The screw mount/thread for a board on the top side of the case is stripped, is there anything I can do to secure that board? I'm linking a snip of the Upper LCD Screen Replacement guide. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If it is just that little hole there, then take a narrow, thin piece of plastic and put it in the hole so that it touches the bottom and yet hangs out. Then screw the screw into it. It will help act as an anchor. But based on the size of that hole it needs to be very narrow and thin

I've had good luck with using stranded copper wire in situations like this. Take some thin stranded copper wire and strip a length of it about half again as long as the depth of the hole. Stuff it in the hole then cut it off at the insulation. Bend it over a bit so it will clear the part being attached. The copper deforms easily when the screw is inserted and the bulk will provide enough surface for the screw threads to grip.
