Safest way is to do a full factory reset and don’t restore from a backup.

Clear the cache and your browsing history. Androids and iPhones don't normally get viruses as, the software used to build the operating systems is based off of Linux.

iOS is not based off of Linux, it is based off of Unix. And if you download an APK from a sketchy website (or even a weird Play Store app) it is very easy to get a virus.

@areeve sounds absolutely right. iOS uses XNU, based on Unix (BSD) Kernel ( I think it actually is based on OS X which is based on Unix ;-) NOT Linux. It is ok to post it.
