Do I have to remove the engine to change the oil pressure pump?

What do I have to change out to change the oil pressure pump ? Do I have take the entire engine out like on the newer models ?

@dragonslayer depends on your engine and how much room you got. I would normally say yes you need to pull it but it looks like it can be done in frame. Anyhow check the write-up on here It is pretty descriptive. Of course the manual pretty much shows it on a pulled engine. Looks like a PITA to get to but it's doable.

Make sure it is the pump that gives you trouble. I have not seen very many of them actually failing. pickup tubes etc yes but not really the pump.
