I have a white screen on my iPod touch?

My ipod touch is two years old and was doing great not until the screen went white all of a sudden. i had it in back pocket...i guess i sat on it. It never displays the apple logo when turned on either but just goes white. tried holding the reset / home button but it doesnt work. It comes on only when its been powered..displaying the white screen then goes black.

Can i get this repaired,and how??
