Will MacBook Pro 13 Late 2013 (A1493) battery work in Mid 2014 (A1502)

Hi

I purchased a battery from iFixit using their site to check my hardware for correct parts.

My Macbook Pro is the Mid 2014 model (A1502) but I was sent a Late 2013 (A1493) battery. The battery looks identical except some rubber feet get in the way of the bottom case. I have installed it out of necessity as my laptop is my daily driver. It calibrated fine and appear's to be working fine.

My questions are:

  1. Is this an acceptable battery from my device (it has A1493 printed on the battery)?
  2. Will I experience any long term issues? I've had the Macbook for 7.5 years and after uni, it's a glorified youtube machine but used pretty much 10 hours every day.

Thank you

R

These bits circled in red appear to not fit. The rubber bits are much too large so ive swapped them from the old battery to get it to fit.

The good news is you do have the correct battery! As you can see here: MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Late 2013-Mid 2014) Battery

Apple often times uses batteries across multiple model years when only a CPU or minor upgrade was done as in this case Late 2013 ~ Mid 2014 13" MacBook Pro's (MacBookPro11,1) systems

Any idea why the new battery had rubber feet sticking out of the four points in the middle? Thank you for the reply.

@ruhel - The space is quite tight so if the battery is not properly mounted the bottom cover can have issues. How about posting a few pics so we can see what you encountered Adding images to an existing question

Done. To update I'm a lot more comfortable now that I know I have the right battery. Its just the 2 rubber bits and black plastic bits that appear to be too big to fit.
