How can I remove this PCB battery?

I'm trying to replace the dead internal battery in my rice cooker, but the battery seems to be attached without solder on the contacts. The holder itself it soldered to the PCB, but the connection appears to be dry.

Each side of the connector seems to have a couple of indentations. Could these have been stamped into the battery to hold it in place?

Does anyone have any idea how I could unfix these from the battery so I can put a fresh 1/2AA battery in there, or does the whole thing need to be unsoldered from the PCB itself?

@dvprry what you are looking at are Nickel strips that are spot-welded to the battery. In order to change the battery you would have to desolder those contacts (strips) from the PCB. Not sure if you can find a right replacement otherwise you’ll have to fabricate your own contacts on the new battery to solder it back on.

Thanks for the quick answer. I'll try to find a holder for a 1/2AA battery so it's easier to swap out in future.

If you're going to add a holder, make sure the solder contacts will fit. They're likely to be farther apart than the integrated ones. Or you could also just order an exact replacement. In any event, you have to order the exact chemistry, or you're asking for trouble.
