Digitizer/lcd issues and home button is broken

I’m having some issues after replacing the battery on my iPhone SE 1st generation. The phone turned on after completing the repair, but now the home button is broken, and the screen displays white squares over the Lock Screen, and is unresponsive to touch. This is my first repair on anything. I believe that the home button cable came undone, but there’s something up with the lcd or digitizer. Help is much appreciated.

Edit: Looking inside the phone, digitizer, lcd, and sensor cables look alright, I dunno if this is a logic board issue or anything.

Hi MacNerd01. LCD issues such as no touch response or lines across the screen are 99% of the time issues with the lcd or the flex cables that connect to the logic board. Try re-seating the flex cable connections to the lcd and try booting up the phone again. If the connections are solid, then there is a chance that there is a micro-tear in one of the cables, in which case you would need to replace the screen.

If the home button doesn't work, check the connections again (the SE is notoriously hard to get the cable back reseated with the screen halfway open, but just take your time). If the connection is good, it is possible that the small IC (internal circuit) on the home button was damaged, or the actual flex cable has a micro tear, in which case you would need to get a new home button part.
