I tore the cables on the side of my replacement screen for the iPhone XS. Because only my glass is broken, and my screen otherwise works fine is it possible to use just the glass from the kit or will I need to buy a new kit?

Hi Josh. Generally, there is no easy way to transfer the flex cables from screen to screen at home, so you will need to get a new replacement screen. This is probably best asked to the returns department of iFixit at support@ifixit.com (if you bought a screen kit through iFixit) to see if they can help you get a replacement.
