Hi,

What is the model number of the saw?

I also have a Craftsman circular saw, model #6365. It does not work so I imagine that the switch is the problem. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

To test the switch, you need to access it. You'll have to open up the casing to access the trigger switch in the handle. Once you can access it, check for continuity across the switch. Then, with your proves still in place, pull the trigger and activate the switch. If it reads OL then the switch is bad.

Hi @bigbob61660,

Go to searspartsdirect.com and search for Craftsman 6365 to hopefully find the parts diagrams and user manual.

If there, this will help to dis-assemble and test the switch etc.

Disconnect the power to the saw and use an Ohmmeter to test for continuity from the saw's power cord plug through the switch - both wires.
