Why does my iPod crashes every few minutes?

I lookep up on the internet what could be the reason for the crashes. I deleted some of my music and apps to facilitate the work of the iPod. Additional I tried the DFU- and Restore-Mode, but nothing changed. I bought my iPod 3G 32gb in fall 2009. What should I do next?

Because the ipod is getting old. The battery cant take much anymore so it is dying quicker/crashing. Mine did the same thing. I took it to an apple store and they said the same thing!
