iPad 2 replacement battery missing a chip compare to original

Just ordered replacement battery for iPad2, found out that the new battery is missing a chip compare to the original. Anyone knows what is the chip function on the battery? I've checked the ifixit replacement battery, it doesn't have the chip as well. Will it affect the functionality of the battery?

Refer the image, left new battery, right original.

Hmm really? How do you know. I'm really curious the functionality of the chip on the original battery.

@mirror less I think it tells the iPad that the battery is original.

Hi

If I saw this I would be alarmed too but not to worry because you shouldn’t be

The reason why the chip isn’t there is because different battery manufacturers have different ways of designing and managing their battery’s I have had iPod touch screens that look completely different and perform nearly identical to the original(apart from small colour differences)

But to sum it all Up I wouldn’t be worried unless you plug it in and it doesn’t work but that’s rare and it will probably work really really well!

Hopefully I answered your question

Thanks:)
