Why does my charger and charger port make a high pitched noise?

I have a Lenovo miix 320 (it's a 2 in 1 laptop/tablet ) couldn't find it in the device list

Everytime when I plug it in to charge it the adapter and charger port make a high pitched noise. I started noticing issues when one day my adapter was giving off this chemical smell. A few weeks later my device would only charge to 50% then a few days ago the charger and charger port stated making a high pitched noise.

It also pulses when it chargers .I have also noticed tht when I trying to charge my device and use it the screen goes static and my device freezes.

What should I do in this situation?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Are you using a genuine Lenovo charger?

@andrewsawesome I'm not using the genuine lenovo charger. That broke a year ago and I couldn't find a genuine replacement.

Replace the charger before damaging your computer.

Especially when you state “ . . . my adapter was giving off this chemical smell.”” When you smell burning or the like with any electronics you should know that the problem is serious and you would be wise to shut down immediately and then unplug. Replacement charger/power supplies are much cheaper than a computer motherboard.

And replace the charger with an OEM replacement. Never use an off-brand charger with your laptop!
