Won't turn on, when I get it on the fans run at full speed.

Block Image

My mac wouldnt turn on so I reset SMC, NVRAM and it still wouldn’t. What got it to boot was unplugging the power supply, pressing the power button then plugging the power cable back in while continuing to hold the power button. After a few seconds the macbook will start but the fans are running at full speed. Everything seems fine except the fan speed, and that If i shut down the computer, i cant start it normally. I have to start it using the steps listed above every time.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Let’s do this follow this guide to Step 9 disconnecting the battery MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Early 2013 Battery Replacement

With the battery disconnected plug in your MagSafe charger the cord LED should be Amber at this point and the system should spontaneously boot up. Once it has lets install CoconutBattery while you can. Now shut down your system and reconnect battery and with the MagSafe charger plugged in it should still be Amber. Now restart your system and let is sit a moment and the run CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the min window and post it here for us to see Adding images to an existing question

@pathosmusic - Your logic board has problems with the SMC logic. You’ll need to remove the logic board and inspect the other side. Review this image the SMC chip: TI TPS 51980

The system did not boot up on its own with the battery disconnected. I had to unplug the charger, press & hold the power button, reconnect the power cable while still holding the power button for another 5 sec. Then it booted with fans at full speed again. I don't think this is a battery issue.

@pathosmusic - I'm a bit confused in what you are saying here. Did you get the system to boot up without the battery at all?

by

@danj Yes but it acts the same as when the battery is connected. Can only turn on using the steps above.

by

@pathosmusic - Still lets get that CoconutBattery snapshot with the battery installed.

What we did was reset SMC, that undid the lock nothing more.

I uploaded the screenshot, but it doesnt show that the battery is there, or that there is a power adapter plugged in
