Why won’t my camera turn on

Shows no life as I put battery into it

@michellea first make sure that you have the right batteries. You need two 1.5 to 1.55 volt batteries. Make sure that you have the batteries properly inserted and that the battery connections are not corroded etc. . After that turn the cameras power switch on.

If that does not get you any results you will have to dig deeper. the error could be on the flex cable or the PCB. For that repair you do want to go ahead and use the Minolta X700 Service Manual

You'll need to check the battery compartment to see if the contacts are corroded.

Check corrosion on the battery door/cap even if it doesn’t look corroded clean with vinegar.
