a1278 No display, no wifi, no bluetooth

I have a unibody macbook pro a1278 which does not have a working display, Bluetooth or wifi. what could be the problem? The backlight and apple logo do not turn on.

  • display port output works (tested using mini-dp to vga adapter)
  • wifi - “no hardware installed”
  • LAN port works
  • no visible damage on motherboard components

It might be the display has met liquids at some stage, both wifi and BT antennas are there inside within the display. You could remove the glass to see what's inside and in case try to replace the display. Heaven only knows if that will solve the issues as it's not so unusual shorts on the display may destroy components on the logic board too. Unless you have a microscope and testing tools "visible damage" may not be very meaningful.
