How much heat from a hairdryer to loosen adheasive?

im trying to take off the back, i feel like im heating it too much but i cant get the back to open up. I really need help because i dont want to damage anything. First time trying to repair

Heat up the phone until it is almost too hot to hold constantly in your hands. I usually use some heat resistant gloves to counteract that. Keep your heat gun moving around the back glass and don’t keep it in one spot for too long. It takes quite a bit of heat to burn adhesive but it’s very possible if you keep your heat gun concentrated in one spot. Keep the gun moving around the back glass for 5-10 minutes usually and you can grab a suction cup and gently pull up the glass just enough to get a prying tool in to work it around the glass.

Hi XMeee, I have done many Samsungs, including the S10. Although there is no exact number to heat at, a good recommendation would be to heat it so it is just barely too hot to touch with your bare hand. Overheating is much less of an issue than you think! I would rather overheat the phone than underheat and crack the glass. :)
