How do I replace/fix the trackpad (right/middle/left click) buttons?

I am not sure why, but my left click button is a bit lower than the right click button (and does not make a clicking sound); as a result, makes it difficult to click/use and it does not return back to its position after being pressed. The middle button suddenly broke and came off, and it cannot be put/clicked back into place. How can I resolve these button issues?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi,

Here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop.

Go to p.75 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove/replace the trackpad.

Replacement trackpads are available online. Just search for 5M10W51786 or 5M10W51787 to get results for suppliers that suit you.

Apologies for any confusion regarding the part numbers, but there are two trackpads listed in the parts list for the laptop. They are interchangeable as they are listed as a substitute part for each other. Usually the part number can be found somewhere on the part itself if you wish to verify that you’re getting the same one.

Just querying how old the laptop is, as it seems to be a recent release? If it is <12 months old maybe get it fixed under warranty. Just a thought.
