Shawn Jones main thing is that you continue your routine maintenance. Regular oil changes with High-Mileage motor oil is pretty important. Change your spark plugs, belts, filters etc. at regular service intervals. Pay attention to the cooling system (hoses, radiator etc) There is nothing really special about it other than do not let little things build up. As soon as something needs to be looked at, do so to find out the cause of it. It’s an engine that has lots of miles on it so it needs special care quick and not when it breaks down. That is really all you need to do. I am the owner of a PU with 254K and it’s still my daily driver :-)

My 96 1500 has 285000 and I change my oil every 7000 miles and transmission fluid and filter every 30000 miles and flush my coolent system twice a year and diff fluid every 20000 miles. And all other parts when needed. If I could afford the gas I wouldn't hesitate to drive across the country. And yes it is my daily drive 40 miles everyday.
