Brake lights / rear turn signals not working

So my brake lighs and rear turn signals don't work.. Back up lights work. Front turn signals work. I replaced the turn signal relay and nothing. Has anyone had this issue before? Please help, I don't have the money to spend on taking it to the mechanic right now. Thank you for your time.

Tony Montana Malverde of course you’ve checked the bulbs already….Check the wiring harness beneath the bed. It does have a tendency of corroding. Unplug it and clean the contacts, apply some dielectric grease to protect it somewhat. Give us the exact year for your PU since we can check the wiring diagram for you to guide you further.

Update (01/20/2022)

See if you have a test light. If not see if you can borrow one to check the lighting system. This should work for your model since it is year specific.

Thank you for your response. It is a 1994 Chevrolet 1500. 4.3 V6. I will do that. It's not the bulbs I checked those. It's just weird that the back up lights work but not the brakes or turn signals.

@Tony Montana Malverde some of those models have had issues with the lamp housing getting corroded and others have had a bad routing on the harness. I'll check the wiring diagram and see if the lights in the back of the truck are fused separately. Let's see what we can find out.

Tony Montana Malverde . Rear lamp systems (taillamps, clearance lamps, endgate lamps, and license plate lamps) all receive voltage from the same brown wire circuit and share the same ground terminal located at the left rear side member or at the left side of the platform hitch. If only one system is not working, locate and repair the open in the wiring and/or bulbs that pertain to that system.

2. If none of the rear lamp systems work, check the PARK LP fuse.

Its only the brakes and rear turn signals that bdont work. The daylight running lights and back up lights work, license plate lights work. I'ma check the connection and the ground. Hopefully it works.

@Tony Montana Malverde check your fuse anyway. Just to make sure ;)

Follow the troubleshooting instructions to hopefully narrow it down.
