The LG G4 was released in the US in early June 2015, as always focusing on high-end specifications and a refined fashion sense that makes it stand out in the premium smartphone market. Each version of the phone will have a different model number based on if it is sold by a carrier or unlocked (US or International). Some LG G4's are known to have bootloop problems.

Why is my phone not turning on?

Hi, I'm Vaughn. I have a silver LG G4. It was working fine, until about early December, last year, when it got really cold, and I forgot that my phone was in a white case, and somehow, it wouldn't turn on or charge, and I had just replaced the screen.

Usually when I turn the phone on, the phone vibrates and the screen comes on, and when I charge it, the battery icon would come on the screen, then the orange light, but none of those things happened.

I really need to know what's causing this, and how my phone can finally turn on again, so I can finish copying over some data to a new device. Please help me. thanks.

Vaughn Gracey the very first thing you want to do is change your battery. If that does not work proceed according to the LG flowchart. Repair is War on Entropy. Tossing it is not what we want to advocate around here. It’s iFixit not iReplace it (within reason;-)

Now, bear in mind why I said what I did. I got cinged by LG with this phone.

@nick I hear you but opinions do not help the OP ;-)

@oldturkey03 It's often the board, especially early models. Yes, this *does* sometimes fix it, but if it did, I'd be rushing to get the data onto a new device and let the G4 fail naturally.

If someone gave me one I can unlock I'd totally run it until it died but not as a main phone.

@nick I know but our opinion should not matter when we answer. Let the OP make the decision on how and what they want to fix. Every answer should be unbiased and objective despite on how we may feel about the device. Not our call. ;-)

@oldturkey03 Well true yeah mine was a confirmed board failure how it failed based on the issue, plus failure mode. This one is greyer since the symptoms of failure don't point to it as readily.

The LG DAC is really good especially for 16-bit FLAC (sadly I never got to test 24-bit FLAC) so it's sad their phones had so many problems in a way. I remember just how good Pure Heroine (ripped from the Japan release with the bonus tracks) sounded on the LG DAC - the dual DAC was even better, but the G4 colored my taste for LG permanently. I haven't found anything as good since.

iPhones do not work for me since I can't install foobar2k and put a 256GB MicroSD card in them.
