Replaced the digitizer and there is a strip that is not responding

Hi all,

Having issues working out why one digitizer has a strip near the bottom that does not work after been replaced. started a draw program and all along the screen there is a strip that does not work.

The ebay seller said the screen was fully tested before shipped.

I bought 2 from the seller and the other screen does work (although i did manage to break the home button cable :D

The part is defective, sometimes defects take a while to present themselves or damage occurs during shipping or the part was never actually tested, you never really know which one is the case. The home button can be replaced fairly easily, although the home buttons on iPads are a lot trickier to get set properly compared to iPhones.

I took the iPad up to a repair shop up the the street. he looked at the connectors on the ipad and on the replacement screen and said there was nothing wrong with them.

Is it correct to assume that the film on the back and front of the replacement digitizer can stay while you test it? should not affect this i hope?
