How to reset because someone elses gmail logged in

I bought this tablet the prev owner effused give gmail and password so I can use my account how can I do that

Are you able to get into the tablet's home screen?

Unfortunately no it let me connect to internet first then to log into a gmail it says something use the existing one used to last time
