Older Maytag skips the drain, rinse and spin occasionally

Hi,

I have an older Maytag that works great. Recently it would be filled with water however the control has moved to the “END”. If I manually move the dial to the “Rinse/Spin” it works fine, it drains etc ok. The mechanics are working great, it just seems to “skip” the drain, rinse, spin cycle on occasion. IT seems to be doing it on all settings (Permanent press, light etc).

Any insight on how to test the control about this?

Thank you

Hi,

What is the model number of the washer?

When you say ".... just seems to “skip” the drain, rinse, spin cycle on occasion.", do you mean that the cycle timer control jumps straight to the end or steps through each part of the washing cycle but nothing happens?
