Restoring backlight keys without a new keyboard?

**This is a continuation of this post: Is the battery look viable for reuse?. In many cases I consider a BIOS password you cannot clear without a motherboard swap/$50+ programmer BER, but this one is super good cosmetically and was not average.**

I finished the motherboard swap between the parts system and good chassis. So far it has been perfect, but there's an issue preventing 100% compatibility :-(. It took the non-SureView screen mostly well, but I lost the SureView button (duh) and the brightness controls, even with a BIOS reset.

Drat I didn’t get my way 100% :-(.

Is there a way to “restore” the keys short of a new keyboard as well? I’ve committed to the swapped screen as I can’t find a reasonably priced IVO panel very easily, and I know if it breaks again, I’ll probably need to do this - in addition to glossy panels being good for nothing reflection nightmares. This screen was $90, uses the NORMAL 30-pin iDP cable internally and if it breaks I can get any old LG IPS panel. I can source a touchscreen for $126+ but I need to frame swap it from the assembly I recovered from the operation.

I found a solution to my problem. HP splits the controls for SureView and the screen - they're not tied together but the matrix has the SV option added for quick control. If you install a non SV screen and it doesn't work, you need the hotkey driver.

Now to find a way to mask the screen printing that isn't a glob of black nail polish if possible… It will be obvious since I have the backlit keyboard. Unless I can do it internally so there's no obvious evidence unless you know I ripped it out.
