My oculus quest won't charge and has a red light.
My oculus quest 1 has been acting up and can’t charge. It is dead right now and when I plug it in it gives me a red light. I have now changed the cable 3 times and wait for an hour before plugging it back in to see if it was overheating. Please help me!
Is this a good question?

I have the same problem except there is no red light for me, i used a 30 watt charger instead of the included 10 watt charger and I think thats why it isnt working.

Oculus quest batteries have a hardware "self destruct" in lingo terms we use. their are contacts, the square conductive looking pads on the battery, if at anytime those contacts touch the metal frame covering the battery it will kill the quests ability to charge and turn on and slowly discharge so the battery doesnt explode.
Its no secret the li-poly or li-ion packs swell, and to prevent an exploding battery in your face this precaution was implemented, one of the only ways to see if this is the case is to check and see if the pack is swollen and if it is, have an expert remove it and dispose of the battery. these, batteries when exposed to oxygen, ignite at a tempature so hot you can not see the flame. lithium fire's are very nasty. so please air on the side of caution. All the quests have this, and all battery packs will sooner or later swell; it's not a factory defect, it's an expected EOL symptom for this part.
