New keyboard and left hinge, won't boot

I replaced the keyboard and left hinge on my macbook.

I carefully followed your tutorials and feel like I did everything right, but it won't boot now.

No start up sound or any sound. Screen flashes for a moment, but nothing.

I tried putting the old keyboard back in, but nothing.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Update

i checked all connections.

I'm worried that it may be that one of the wires you have to snake around the optical drive may have been pinched by that hold down screw next to it. Does that make sense?

I suggest you triple check all your wire connections. If the MacBook worked fine before you began then the problem is either something is not connected, not connected properly or one of the cables broke internally during the procedure.

In reply to your last comment, it makes sense to me.

I would remove your battery then undo all your cables and use the power on jumper pads on the logic board to turn it on. You short the jumper pads with a small flat head screw driver or a pair of tweezers. On the A1181 there are 2 different versions of where the jumper pads will be. One is marked with a power on icon, the other has PWR BTN. Pictures of both versions are provided to help you locate the one's on your board. To turn it off you can short the jumpers again or disconnect your Magsafe.

I would connect 1 wire to the board and then attempt to power it on. Then turn it off and connect another wire/cable and attempt to power it on. I would go through this 1 wire/cable at a time routine until you find what cable(s) are causing the laptop to not boot. This will take all the guess work out of what needs replaced.
