Mid 2014 MacBook Pro retina 13 inch compatibility (a1502 -a1398)

Hi all, I'm hoping one of you has some friendly advice on compatibility and upgradability on my mid 2014 Mac Pro 13 inch.

I have the I5 8gb version and find it's running pretty slow when I'm running apps like Photoshop and lightroom. I'm in the market at buying a logic board that has an i7 and 16gb ram. In that regard I do know exactly what I need to buy.

My question really is, I have a friend that has a 15inch late 2013 Mac Pro retina a1398 that has the processor and ram that I desire and I've been scouring the web for Information as to whether the logic board in that would fit my own mid 2014 13 inch Mac. I'm just concerned about the differing model number and the size of the actual logic board component, I have seen images of the internals and they do look the same but I havent seen side by side comparison on scale and compatibility. I don't know whether I'm just looking in the wrong places but I can't find anything really informative on it and whether my friends Mac will give me the parts I require.

Anyone have any information on this?

Sadly Apple alters things often!

The series is important 13” A1502 but you also need to look a bit deeper at the ID level if you want to see if parts are interchangeable. As an example your ID is MacBookPro11,1 so these all share the same parts.

Your friends 15” A1398 series parts won’t fit a 13” A1502 series.

So the bottom line here its a no go ;-{
