Blank screen after replacing home button

I replaced home button on my Itouch and now it won't turn on, I can update on my computer and upload pictures from Ipod to the computer but have no screen what did I do wrong?

Hi,

It's likely that the connector to the main LCD has been displaced from the main board during the repairs to the home button. Sometimes the LCD connector rocks about 10deg and only connects to 1/2 the socket.

Can you swipe across the bottom of the screeen (unlock) and still hear sounds. If you can, I bet that the connector has been displaced. I have just rebuilt 2 4th Gen touches and both of them at some time had this issue, even though they were seated correctly before closing ths unit.

I would remove the screen (carefully) and then with a iPod opening tool, reseat the LCD connector. You should be able to press the power button and see if the system is working. If you get a white screen, hard reset the touch and you should be good to go.
