What should I use instead of an iOpener to remove the battery?

I’m attempting to do a display replacement and battery replacement on an iPad Air, and have just gotten to the step where I need to use an iOpener to remove the logic board and battery.

I don’t have an iOpener. I was only able to get this far into the repair without one because the display was already falling off from poor adhesive the last time a repair was performed on the device.

Instead of an iOpener, could I use a hairdryer or something?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Yes, you could use a hairdryer. I sometimes use my mom’s neck heat thing and that works perfectly after putting it in the microwave for 3 minutes. What I would not recommend doing is putting it in front of a space heater as this could damage the device. Hope this helps!
