iPhone 5c Connected to Wifi but no Internet

So, I have this iPhone 5c running ios 10 something. Currently it does connect to wifi, the bars are there everything is fine, but it is saying it's not connected to the internet. Is there a wifi cable or something in the phone I might have broke? Because I have gone inside the phone before, recently broke the screen on accident. I want it to be fully working again, but I cant seem to get it to connect to the internet. I've tried restarting the phone, and ive tried to reset network settings. I'm afraid to reset it, because I dont want the whole device becoming unusable thanks to it being unable to activate because of the internet issue. I have connected this phone to wifi before and it worked perfectly fine, but now it's not working, help please!

Have you tried another Wi-Fi network?

If it is connecting to the Wi-Fi network but not accessing the internet it would point to a software issue or very week Wi-Fi signal. I gather you can access the internet through sim card data? Your next step would be to update the phone through iTunes or 3uTools in case there is a security issue stopping it from connecting.

@imicrosoldering The phone has been fully updated for a while. Also I have no sim for it so I dont actually know. The main thing I know is that it just stopped working for basically no reason. Other phones/electronics connect and work but not that phone. Again I'm afraid a software issue could brick the device and stop me from using if it's not a software issue.

@imicrosoldering Tried to update it, it was successful, but the phone still had the same exact problem

Also on safari it says "Safari cannot open the page because it could not establish a secure connection to the server" wanted you to know this in case its important

@catlove I have had this problem on a mac but not an iPhone. The things that use to fix it were.

• Reset modem or router.

• Try different security setting for modem / router

• Make sure time and date are correct.

• Renew lease.

• Disable or enable WPS.

@imicrosoldering Thank you! The problem was the time and date were incorrect. The iphone now connects!
