Is there a way to clean it if MDM screen shows during initial setup?

Bought this laptop from a local seller over craigslist, it runs OK, however, when doing reset and try to set it up again, found MDM screen (remote management control enrollment) shows up, though I get it bypassed (no connection with WIFI, but connect internet after that), is there a way I can have it totally cleaned up at all, so, next time when doing reset, it won’t show up again? The current OS it is running is Mojave.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance!

Does the screen tell you how to contact the owner? If it does I would do that.

I don’t recall it shows any contact information there, I can try it again and see what it displays exactly, but what I should do with that info shown up or without?

If you see this

You’ll need to contact the systems owner to see if they are willing to release it (in this example IBM is the owner) , if not return the system to the seller and get your money back.

Thanks Dan! By the way, if there is no contact information displayed, what does it mean? And what could happen if I continue using it (I mean by passing that screen)?

@cxz - You're taking a sizable risk!

Remote management can lock you out or even erase/encrypt your stuff. And like anything connected to the internet traceable!

I would return it get my money back and try again.

Besides you'er likely feeding someones drug habit!

They can even do it if I got that screen bypassed? Curious to know as I bypassed that screen, which means I didn’t let them make the settings on this laptop, right? Correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks.

@cxz - The system is tethered to the management system you can't break that link as its within the systems firmware. Its part of Apples iCloud protection system.

Can I install windows os through boot camp? And can they still trace it in that way? I’m not really care which OS will be running on it?
