How do I open this remote to clean the buttons so they can work again?

Hi,
Here’s a link to some videos that show how to open different Dish remote controls. Hopefully one of them will also be suitable for your model remote.
To avoid damaging the remote or causing cosmetic damage to the case, by using a screwdriver etc, I suggest that you use some purpose made pry tools. Here’s a link iFixit Opening Tool.
