Front speaker only works with fake flex cable

Hello guys,

I broke my flex cable for the front camera, sensors etc. during a screen replacement. After that I bought a “genuine” flex cable replacement from Ebay. I think it is a fake, because I compared to my original one. But it worked so far except the auto-brightness option wasn’t in the settings anymore. Then I noticed that the camera was a little blurry, not focusing right and the quality was bad. So I bought another new original flex cable from Ebay, this time 100% genuine and the camera quality is perfect, but now with this flex cable the front speaker isn’t working. I thought maybe the flex cable was faulty and bought another one original from a different seller, but the same problem- front speaker isn’t working.

The front speaker isn’t faulty, because the funny thing is, if I use my fake flex cable everything works perfectly fine again, except bad camera quality.I asked both of the sellers and both told me that their product is tested and working 100%.

Please help!

Options

You cannot purchase original apple parts. The only way to acquire an original front flex assembly would be to pull one from another phone. There are suppliers that stock good third party parts but unfortunately eBay is usually not one of them.

The most common problem with this flex assembly is getting the copper contacts to align properly. If they are out a bit you will have no sound.

For your auto brightness to work you will need to copy your original screen info over to your replacement screen with something like an icopy machine.

Thank you for your answer! I purchased 2 original flex cables, which were pulled out from iPhones. They were definitely genuine I'm sure. But they are not working, only my fake flex cable is working. I'm not sure why, but I guess I have to accept that.

The auto brightness option in settings came back after a dfu restore.
